Silence Day and Dhuni Day - July 2015

Baba lovers gathered at Meherabad last week to join in Baba's Silence together for one special 24-hour day. A record number were accommodated at Meherabad, approximately 1,600. Baba lovers spent most of their time on the Hill around His Samadhi. Those not queuing for darshan could be seen sitting in small groups all around the area. No prayers or arti are said aloud but countless prayers of the heart must have reached the Beloved.

Meherazad was open July 9th and 12th for pilgrims. Meherazad is accustomed to having about 500 visitors on each of the two days around Silence Day and this year it is estimated to have been close to 1,200 total during the two days. It took ten buses to carry the pilgrims on the 12th.

Many pilgrims are able to stay on for the Dhuni two days after Silence Day. July is one of the biggest dhunis of the year and this year was certainly no exception.
