|Two Additions to the Trust’s Online Library|
The Avatar Meher Baba Perpetual Public Charitable Trust is pleased to announce the addition of two out-of-print titles to the Online Library on the Trust website: Meher Baba on Be True to Your Duty and Five Other Messages and The Work of Meher Baba with Advanced Souls and Sadhus.
Meher Baba on Be True to Your Duty and Five Other Messages was published in 1954 by Adi K. Irani for Meher Publications. These messages were given by Baba in Andhra and Sakori during 1953-54 and include four untitled messages, one message entitled “Existence is Substance and Life is Shadow,” and the titular message. The titular message is the original source for Baba’s oft-quoted words, “I want you to make me your constant companion. Think of me more than you think of your own self. The more you think of me, the more you will realise my love for you. Your duty is to keep me constantly with you throughout your thoughts, speech and actions.”
The Work of Meher Baba with Advanced Souls and Sadhus by William Donkin was published in 1948 by Adi K. Irani for Meher Publications. Donkin describes it as “a kind of epilogue” to his book The Wayfarers, which chronicles Baba’s contact with masts or God-intoxicated souls. The present work thus begins approximately one week after The Wayfarers concludes, on 15th March 1948, and covers the period up to 14th May 1948. One passage captures the sweet expression of love shown by a child to his Father: “Vishnu Datt Digambar is about eighty years old, although he looks much younger. He is a very high type; and Baba said of him that he was three in one—a mast, a saint, and a child; and that he was one of the best contacted in Uttar Kashi. He is quite naked has been silent for many years. He begs for food from five houses only, and accepts only what he needs. He was very happy to contact Baba and made gestures of ‘flying kisses’ towards him.”
